Hello and I hope you had a nice day. Mondays aren't usually my favourite day, but today has been quite a nice one. Partly because the kids are back at school, and they were out of the house allowing Toni and I to get on with our various activities without the sound of crashes and bangs and screams and giggling and crying and all of those other child noises. I'm sure it's good for them to be at school learning stuff as well, but I've come to see their education very much as a desirable by-product of their being in a different building to the one I live in through the week.
Last night I sellotaped some plastic film over our bedroom window, and this stopped the elements from detrimentally affecting the climate of our room. It crinkles a little bit with the occasional strong gust, but we can live with this far more than the Arctic howling that we've been trying and failing to ignore recently.
Last night we watched Zoolander. It's a film I saw about 10 minutes of at Christmas, and looked very funny. Over the weekend I saw it on DVD for next to nothing, so I got it - especially since it has a commentary by Ben Stiller. It's a very silly funny film about male modeling, and no description can really convey the stupidity of it. Will Ferrell is exceptionally funny - I loved him in Elf - and the pairing of Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller is always good. It's so admirable that these guys choose to do comedy, when they have the looks to be middle-of-the-road straight actors. Hats off to them.
I feel as though I've achieved something with work today too. I cleared away loads of short jobs and answered emails and phoned people I needed to phone. I even did a design for a new site, and feel almost on top of the stuff that I'm bothered about at the moment. I'm going to really get loads of stuff sorted tomorrow too, when the lovely and enchanting Tim is in residence.
By Wednesday, I should be almost exactly where I want to be. Mmmmmm.
Impressed? I'll say I am.
I am impressed.
